The 'parklands suburb' of the Inner West.

The suburb of Concord is situated on the Parramatta River, half way between Sydney and Parramatta, and next door to the site of the 2000 Sydney Olympics and Paralympics at Homebush Bay.

It is 15 km west of the Sydney CBD, in the local government area of the City of Canada Bay.

In January 1793, free settlers who arrived on the "Bellona" received grants in the area, then named Liberty Plains, part of which is now Concord. In that same year, grants were made to six non-commissioned officers in a ‘district to be distinguished in future by the name of Concord’.

Concord is well served by Sydney Bus services. The routes connect Burwood and Strathfield with Ryde and Macquarie Centre, and Burwood with Mortlake/Breakfast Point, Cabarita, and Bayview Park.  There are an additional 2 bus services from Mortlake to the City via Leichhardt, and an all-stops service from Bayview Park to the city via Victoria Road.
