FOREST LODGE
Forest Lodge Primary School
Forest Lodge 2037

Traditional owners of the land were from the Eora nation

13 hectares were given to Sir George Gipps in 1840 who was a chemist and he built "Forest Lodge" mansion in 1912. A local pub, also called "Forest Lodge" is one of the few remaining watering holes of the 1850's still operating.

Separated from Glebe in general by a wide valley enclosing Harold Park through Hegarty Street to Bridge Road across Johnston's Creek and Orphan School Creek.

Developed mainly in the Victorian era, a predominance of single and double storey row houses follow the contours of the low hills, stepping down in steep grades, and a few grander terraces built on the higher elevations.

As with Glebe, close proximity to Sydney University and the thriving village culture of the area with its many shops, schools, hotels, parks and neighbourhood facilities makes Forest Lodge a desirable location.

The 2006 Census combines population and other statistics with Glebe.

The median house price for Forest Lodge in 2008 is $733,000. The median unit price is $360,000.

Just an email to say thank you for all your help to secure this property, you were very upfront from the beginning about the condition of the property and we found this refreshing in comparison to other agents.

Thank you for keeping us up to date during the whole process and treating us as individuals rather than just another anonymous couple trying to purchase a property.

We appreciate all your help.

Dear Chris,

We are writing to express our gratitude on your successful sale of our home.

You low-key approach of selling through your database was a welcomed change to the unsuccessful and stressful open-house, fully advertised auction approach we had been through late last year.

Your keen dedication resulted in our securing at a favourable price, an overseas buyer whom you 'nursed' and coaxed through the difficult email and phone negotiation process.

We have been happily singing your praises to family and friends since the successful event.

I first dealt with Harris Partners a number of years ago as a purchaser. At the time I found them to be professional, of high integrity, and balanced in terms of their treatment of both sides of the property transaction.

I would advise anyone who thinks the auction model is the best way to extract value from a property sale to have a chat to the guys at Harris Partners (why open a bidding process up for the whole world to see and settle for a second best price??)
